If you asoo hear the tone, you should be able to hear everything else through Ableton Live. I took it all back out again and never will try it, unless they actually get that software to work, and my computer is not the problem.
Any attempt at using sub standard drivers will result in all sorts of frustration and timing issues. It won't affect recording. Then, when I want to hear what I recorded, I have to go back in to Options and select the Wave audio driver for the recording to get pushed out to the laptop speakers.
This is what happens when someone digs up and hijacks an old thread instead of starting a new one. A high quality audio interface will be important in the overall success.
For me, though, I can only have the main Audio In on otherwise I can't record. I've gone through the set again. It sucks but it sucks less than the alternatives and has made massive improvements for me on my laptop when just screwing around and trying things out many times. Maybe I should check that and I will.
If you're on a Mac I can't help. I advised to turn in off in my previous post so you could record, but you have to turn in back on again to listen to what you played or listen to anything through Ableton Live. IOW, when you just play your guitar do you hear it?

It really did not look as if I needed it, and besides the software would not iio up. I had to turn it off or nothing recorded. Use the little tutorial on how to record on the right-hand side in Ableton rather than create your own live set.
As you can see, it's not lit up. Can you describe what you actually hear and see?
